As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Professional Nurse - Theatre based in Kimberley, South Africa. The Senior Professional Nurse - Theatre is to ensure a safe, positive patient experience by supporting the unit manager in the co-ordination of patient care and management of the unit
Responsibilities:
- Ensure comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating risks and meeting set clinical quality standards
- Manage the patient experience
- Ensure optimal supply, retention and utilisation of staffing resources
- Empower and build staff competence through continuous assessment and development
- Assist with the effective management of operational expenses (including stock and capital)
- Pharmacology
- Nursing record keeping
- Nursing processes and procedures
- Relevant nursing legislation
- Infection prevention and control
- Audit patient records
- Patient assessment skills
- Develop/ modify a nursing care plan
- Risk identification
- Mentorship
Requirements: - Registered Nurse with a valid SANC registration
- Qualified as a Midwife
- Post basic qualification if operating room
- Min 3 years experience in a private hospital with a theatre role
- Basic life support, ACLS; ATLS; PALS trained
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
