The Opportunity
This role as an Emergency Department Senior Medical Officer (ED SMO) at with our client offers a dynamic and rewarding career path in a supportive and progressive environment. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality emergency medical care, supervising junior medical staff, and ensuring optimal patient flow and management. This position also includes opportunities for academic involvement, allowing you to contribute to medical education and training. What will I need?
- FACEM or equivalent qualification, or FACRRM/FRACGP with advanced qualifications in Emergency Medicine (EM AST or EMD) also considered.
- In-depth knowledge of current practices in Emergency Medicine.
- Proven ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical, nursing, and allied health staff.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, their families, and professional colleagues.
- Familiarity with continuous quality improvement activities relevant to Emergency Medicine.
- Evidence of ongoing commitment to continuing medical education.
- Current National Police Check.
- Proof of immunisation records/history as required by the Health Services Act 1988, 2020 Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers), through documentation or serology report, ensuring immunisation for all vaccine-preventable illnesses.
