As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Unit Manager - Medical Unit based in George, South Africa.  The Unit Manager - Medical Unit is to lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organizational resources within a structured unit.
 
Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
• Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
• Lead and manage the staff in the unit
• Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilization of resources
• Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
• Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
• Manage key stakeholder relations
• Auditing and accreditation processes
• Clinical risk management
• Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
• Financial management
• Healthcare industry
• Human resource processes including employee relations
• Infection prevention and control
• Management of staff productivity
• Nursing functional knowledge
• Patient complaint management
• Relevant nursing legislation

• Registered Nurse with a valid SANC registration
• Post basic qualification advantageous
• Nursing education qualification & Nursing administration/management qualification
• Min 3 years experience in leadership
• Min 5 years experience in nursing 
• Infection Prevention and Control; Clinical Facilitation advantageous
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
