Our services cover the state of Western Australia and are conducted from our workshop, site support at client’s sites, or field service from our fully equipped vehicles. 
 
Roster: 2&2 FIFO or Local to Port Hedland.
 
Scope: Hands on HD Mechanic role. Assisting with Day to Day management of Road transport and material handling equipment.

Location: This position is located in Port Hedland. Port Hedland is a costal town located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The principle duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

1. Completing mechanical repairs and maintenance as required – Hands on.
2. Plan, organise, direct, and control workshop staff.
3. Ensure all aspect of safety is used as per Site / Finmec Safety Management plan.
4. Responsible to ensure maintenance documents are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
5.  Responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the on-site maintainers.
6. Manage and insure all manufactures warranty guidelines are followed.
7. Preparation of quotations.
8. Overseeing the purchasing of materials, parts and tools for a smooth progression of repairs.
9. Preparing job cards for team including planning and scheduling.
10. Dealing with external companies in relation to jobs.
11. Dealing with internal communications and new employees.
12. Mentoring and teaching of team members.
13. Using available resources in an efficient manner to complete jobs.
14. Ensuring all repairs on machines are completed in cost efficient, timely and safe manner.
15. Check over all work after completed and ensure everything is up to Finmec Standards.

   Skills required:

1. Trade qualification as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic.
2. Strong leadership and communication skills.
3. Excellent motivational and mentoring attributes.
4. Ability to provide positive leadership, manage people & resolve conflict.
5. Sound ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities, complex problem solving and working under pressure.
6. Previous experience in a supervisory role desirable but not required.
7. Previous experience in managing manufactures warranty processes and systems.
8. Extensive experience in the maintenance of road transport equipment and manufactures processes.
9. Advanced diagnostic skills.
10. Proactive and highly motivated.
11. Work planning and scheduling skills.
12. Firm understanding of safety in the industry and dedicated commitment to safety.
13. Sound computer literacy.
14. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
15. Sound customer relationship building skills and dedication to customer satisfaction
16. Current full West Australian “C” class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State.
17. HR & MR License desirable.
18. Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical.
