THE COMPANY

The company has established a leading robotics systems integration facility undertaking bespoke contract and integration work for clients in defence, maintenance and resources.

Members of the robotics team contribute to this work as highly trained mechatronics, software and electrical engineers with a focus on autonomous solutions, robotics automation and integration.


ABOUT THE ROLE

We expect or team members to be:

• Strategic: Bring a creative and entrepreneurial approach to development, and a passion to work with the latest technologies.
• Collaborative: work will with developers, designers, and project managers to ensure delivery of high-quality products to our clients.
• Technical: Implement ideas, through code for deployment onto unmanned ground vehicles.
• Based in WA

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications: 

• STEM Degree or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of ongoing self-education (ie. Coursera, eDX, Udacity etc.) highly regarded.

Experience:

• Successful delivery of software driven projects, on time and to standard.
• > 1 Year of experience in a couple (Ideally, many) of the following:
  • Scripting languages: Bash, Python, Lua
  • Medium-low level languages: C++, Rust, Java
  • High level languages: Python, Ruby, C#, Go
  • Game Engines
  • Computer vision
• > 1 Year of experience Linux.
• > 1 year of experience Robotics, Ideally with ROS or ROS2.
• Experience with source control (Git or similar).

 Skills:

• Strong software engineering, and analytical skills.
• Ability to analyse requests, recommend solid technical solutions, and participate in delivering the solution.
• Able to develop and maintain technical documentation.

Bonus points for those with experience in: 

• Algorithms
• Machine Learning
• CUDA
• QA & Testing
• Game Engines, in particular: Unity3D
• Blender and, or CAD

SPECIAL CONDITIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Able to obtain clear police clearance
• Technical screening requirements: Programming test, Technical interview
• Portfolio showcasing evidence of technical ability (Github or similar)
