Wanted: An Occupational Therapist Who Remembers Why They Became One

Let's get something out of the way.

You didn't spend years studying Occupational Therapy because you had a lifelong ambition to hit utilisation targets, spend your evenings finishing reports and explain to someone why six back-to-back appointments might be a little ambitious.

You became an OT to help people.
To solve problems.
To help someone become more independent.
To find practical ways of turning "I can't do that" into "Actually, maybe I can."

That's the OT we're looking for.

Our client is a values-driven organisation looking for an Occupational Therapist who wants to deliver great clinical work while being part of a team that actually supports them to do it.

The Role You'll work with participants to understand what matters to them, identify barriers to independence and develop practical strategies that make everyday life easier, safer and more fulfilling.

Depending on your experience and caseload, your work may include:

• Completing functional capacity assessments
• Assessing participants' daily living skills and support needs
• Developing individualised therapy plans
• Assistive technology assessments and recommendations
• Home and environmental assessments
• Supporting participants to build independence and capacity
• Working with families, carers and support teams
• Preparing high-quality clinical reports and recommendations
• Collaborating with other allied health professionals
• Liaising with Support Coordinators, Plan Managers and other stakeholders
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and professional standards

But underneath all of that is something fairly simple.

You're helping people do more of the things that matter to them.

Why You'll Actually Want This OneYou're a Clinician, Not a Billing Machine Yes, there are targets.

Every sustainable allied health organisation needs them.

But there's a difference between having sensible expectations and having someone stare at your billables every Friday afternoon like they're checking the Lotto numbers.

Quality matters here.
So do outcomes.

Multidisciplinary Actually Means Multidisciplinary You'll have the opportunity to work alongside other allied health professionals and support teams rather than operating on your own little clinical island.

Share knowledge.
Ask questions.
Learn from each other.

And develop better outcomes for participants because everyone is actually talking to one another.

Your Development Doesn't Stop When You're Hired Whether you're an experienced OT or still developing your clinical confidence, you'll have access to professional support, supervision and development opportunities.

Because "professional development" shouldn't mean being emailed a webinar link twice a year.

The goal is to help you become a better clinician and build the career you want.

Flexibility That Works Both Ways Great clinicians have lives outside work.

Family.
Kids.
Sport.
Dogs that apparently need more appointments than humans.

Whatever yours looks like, there's room for a conversation about flexible working arrangements and how the role can work for both you and the organisation.

Who We're Looking For You'll need:

• A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
• Current registration with AHPRA
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Working with Children Check where required
• Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently while still being part of a collaborative team
• Good clinical reasoning and documentation skills

NDIS experience is highly regarded.
But we're interested in the person behind the CV too.

We're looking for an OT who asks questions.

Someone who listens before recommending.
Someone who understands that two people with exactly the same diagnosis can have completely different lives, goals and support needs.

What We're Really Looking For Clinical skills can be developed.

Systems can be taught.
Processes can be learned.

But empathy, curiosity and genuinely wanting a good outcome for the person sitting across from you are much harder to put into a training manual.

We're looking for someone who values:

People over numbers.
Outcomes over shortcuts.
Collaboration over egos.
Doing the right thing even when nobody is checking.

What This Isn't Let's save everyone a couple of interviews.

This isn't the right role if your idea of person-centred practice is changing the participant's name at the top of last week's report.

It isn't somewhere you should expect to be left completely unsupported.
And it isn't a role where the only measure of whether you've had a successful week is the number sitting beside "billable hours."

There are expectations.
There is accountability.
There is documentation.
There are reports.

We're not pretending those things magically disappear.

The difference is that they're there to support good clinical practice, not replace it.

Why Change Roles? Maybe you're perfectly happy where you are.

Great.
Don't move just because another job appeared on SEEK.

But if you've started wondering whether there's somewhere you could be better supported...

Somewhere your values line up a little better...
Somewhere you can continue developing without feeling like you're permanently racing the clock...

Then it's probably worth having a conversation.

Sound Like You?

You don't need to decide today whether this is your next five-year career move.
Start with a confidential chat.

Tell us what you're looking for.
Tell us what you're not looking for.

And let's work out whether the organisation, the role and you actually fit.
Because recruitment shouldn't be about convincing someone to take a job.

It should be about finding the place where they want to stay.
