We are partnering with a boutique commercial law firm based in Bondi Junction that acts for founders, startups and growing businesses across Australia. They combine sharp litigation capability with practical, business focused advice and are now looking for a smart, driven Paralegal to support their growing workload.
If you like fast moving matters, tight drafting and working directly with senior lawyers instead of being buried in a back office, this will suit you.
 
The role
 
Working closely with the Principal and solicitors, you will have hands on exposure to a mix of commercial and litigation work, including:

• Drafting and formatting correspondence, advices and court documents
• Assisting with preparation of contracts, shareholder agreements and commercial leases
• Legal research across commercial, corporate, IP and disputes matters
• Managing matter files, evidence bundles and court books
• Assisting with discovery, subpoenas and brief preparation for counsel
• Liaising with clients, experts and external stakeholders as directed
• Managing deadlines, diary dates and limitation periods
• General practice support including billing, file opening and compliance

You will be involved from the early stages of matters and will see the full lifecycle of disputes and commercial transactions.

You will be part of a small, tight knit team where your work is visible and appreciated.
 
About you
 
You will likely be:

• A law student in your penultimate or final year, or a recent law graduate
• Previous paralegal or legal assistant experience in commercial, litigation or disputes highly regarded
• Confident drafting clear, concise emails and documents in plain English
• Comfortable juggling multiple matters and deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Strong on detail, file management and following through on tasks
• Keen to learn directly from senior lawyers and take on real responsibility
• Professional, mature and able to speak with business owner clients

Experience with LEAP or similar practice management systems is a bonus but not essential.
