Hunters 4 Staff are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client based in Stoke-on-Trent. We're looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support day-to-day site and equipment maintenance.
This is a varied, all-round role suited to someone who enjoys getting stuck in, solving problems, and keeping a busy site running safely and smoothly.
You'll report directly to the Maintenance Manager and work closely with the wider team to keep machinery, tools, and facilities in good working order.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general site and building maintenance across the facility
- Complete basic electrical work such as replacing fittings, sockets, fuses and cable repairs
- Maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Assist with machinery servicing, breakdowns and preventative maintenance
- Undertake welding, fabrication, plumbing, joinery and painting tasks as required
- Safely maintain overhead cranes, hoists, roller shutter doors and power tools
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a general maintenance or multi-skilled engineering role
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and building maintenance
- Confident using hand and power tools safely
- A proactive problem-solver who can work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and develop additional skills over time
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Welding skills
- Experience working at height
- Knowledge of overhead cranes or hoists
