Job Title: Architectural Metalworker/Welder Fabricator
Location: Essex RM3
Pay: £16 - £20 per hour (dependent on experience, based on a 40-hour week)

About the Role:
We are seeking 1-2 experienced Architectural Metalworkers/Welder Fabricators to join our clients team. This is a long-term opportunity to work on high-end, high-quality metal fabrication projects, specialising in mild steel and stainless steel with wall thicknesses of 1.5-4mm. You’ll be involved in the production of fully welded constructions with minimal distortion and finished to a high standard.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and weld mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum frameworks.
• Work with light gauge materials (1-4mm thick), ensuring minimal distortion and high-quality finishes.
• Dress and finish welds to a satin, polished, or flat state ready for powder coating.
• Read and work from technical drawings.
• Cut, fabricate, and weld components using industry-standard tools and techniques.
• Operate additional equipment such as folders and press brakes (experience is a bonus).
• Assist in developing the metal shop and framing systems.
• Work alongside and learn from an experienced metalworker due to retirement, ensuring continuity of knowledge and techniques.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in architectural metalwork and fabrication.
• Expertise in working with Schüco or Jansen steel/stainless steel systems is highly desirable.
• Ability to produce high-quality work with minimal distortion.
• Competence in working independently and as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
• English speaking and reading proficiency.
• Proficiency in finishing welds to a professional standard.
