Job Title: Pastry Sous Chef
Location: Burton upon Trent
Salary: £32,960 per annum
Hours: 45 hours/week (including some evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
Shift Patterns:

• 08:00 – 17:30
• 13:30 – 23:00

Hunters 4 Staff are excited to be recruiting for a Pastry Sous Chef on behalf of our client at a high-end restaurant/hotel. We are looking for a skilled pastry chef with a passion for creating innovative, visually appealing desserts and an eye for detail. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a similar role, looking to take their career to the next level in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.
 
Main Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence
• Create and maintain high standards of pastries, desserts, and other culinary items
• Liaise with suppliers and ensure market-competitive prices for quality goods
• Ensure food hygiene regulations and health and safety protocols are followed
• Train, supervise, and mentor junior staff members
• Assist in minimising wastage and supporting stock management
• Maintain strong communication with senior staff and participate in meetings and daily briefs
• Support with staff scheduling, ordering, and stock takes

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role within a high-end restaurant or hotel
• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques
• Ability to train and lead a kitchen team
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility with evenings, weekends, and holidays
