Clinician / Counsellor - Mental health Professional - Federal Government Department - Melbourne CBD

• $65.00 - $73.85 an hour + Super

ACM Healthcare is working on behalf of a Federal Government Department to source an experienced Mental Health Professional for a Clinician role, providing Counselling services to veterans. This is initially a 12 month contract at an APS6 level. Full time, 37.5 hours a week position, however part time applicants would be considered.

Duties:
Facilitating the delivery of counselling and other programs to veterans, ADF personnel and their families:

• Deliver high-quality clinical services such as risk assessment, case management, evidence-based counselling (individual, couple, and family), and referral coordination.
• Review client progress, adjust care plans as needed, and extend episodes of care where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including assessments, care plans, and session notes.
• Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development to maintain registration and best practice.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and senior staff to review and manage complex cases.
• Liaise with family members, treatment providers, and other stakeholders to coordinate care and support.
• Contribute to group programs, psychoeducation, community engagement, and service promotion activities.
• Support quality improvement, evaluation, and research initiatives, providing feedback to enhance clinical practice and procedures.

 
Mandatory Requirements:

• Qualifications as a registered Psychologist / Provisional Psychologist / Mental Health Occupational Therapist / Mental Health Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration, OR
• Qualification as a Social Worker with membership of the Australian Association Social Workers (AASW) on commencement OR
• A Masters-level counselling qualification and registration with PACFA as a Registered Clinical Counsellor or with ACA at Level 3 or Level 4
• Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance must be obtained prior to commencement.
• As this role is within a Federal Government department it is a required to be an Australian Citizen at time of commencement
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) & the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance by completing a Pre-commencement Security Check (PCSC).
