The Opportunity 

As a Business Development Manager - Install you will play a key role in growing the adoption of our exterior solutions across Western Australia. Working closely with builders, installers, and supply-and-install partners, you will drive the local execution of our install strategy, build installer capability, and provide practical construction expertise that helps customers confidently transition to James Hardie exterior systems.

This is a highly collaborative role where you'll support sales growth, strengthen industry relationships, and help remove barriers to the successful specification and installation of Hardie exterior products. 
 
What you’ll do  

• Execute install programs locally to grow installer capacity, capability and confidence in the relevant state market, ensuring national install initiatives are translated into practical actions that support state sales priorities, builder conversion and adoption of Hardie exterior systems 
• Recruit, onboard, and support installers through James Hardie install and capability programs, building local installer capacity and engagement while driving participation in training and Installer Alliance programs 
• Manage state-based supply and install accounts, driving product adoption, account growth, training participation, quality outcomes, and alignment with local sales teams
• Work closely with state-based Top 20 and Top 200 account managers to support brick conversion programs, providing install expertise, local installer connections, site-readiness support and practical construction input that helps convert targeted builder opportunities 
• Build trusted relationships with builder supervisors, site teams, estimators and construction stakeholders to support smoother project delivery, early issue identification and stronger adoption of Hardie installation practices in-market
• Build strong relationships with builders, site teams, estimators, and key stakeholders to support project success and drive installation best practices
• Deliver local training and market activation initiatives, building confidence in product knowledge, installation methods, and site execution
• Promote quality, safety, and best-practice installation outcomes through site support, proactive guidance, and Zero Harm principles
• Identify market opportunities and barriers to adoption, collaborating with states sales, account managers and segment program owners to improve market readiness and drive growth
• Collaborate with the wider sales team, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to support cohesive and effective execution. Foster a collaborative environment to drive overall business success 

What you’ll bring  

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential construction, site supervision, installation, building products sales or a similar construction-facing role
• Understanding of residential construction workflows, exterior walling systems, installation sequencing and common site execution challenges
• Knowledge of fibre cement, AAC / render substrate, cladding systems, detailing requirements and broader exterior construction solutions is desirable
• Strong understanding of practical training delivery, capability frameworks, quality standards, safe work practices and installer competency development
• Qualification in Carpentry Cert III and/or Building and Construction cert IV, Business management preferred
• Experience negotiating commercial terms, sales volume targets directly with builder, installers, subcontractors, supply and install partners
• Execution of strategic sales programs, stakeholder development, site activation activities and new product adoption programs
• Experience managing local account relationships, practical training, project follow-up and market activation activity within building products or residential construction
• Strong construction and installation knowledge, with the ability to engage and influence builders, installers, site teams, and state sales teams
• Ability to support Top 20 and Top 200 account managers with practical install expertise, site-readiness support and local installer solutions that enable brick conversion programs.
