The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Strategy, Product and Segment ANZ, you will be responsible for managing the Single-Family New Construction (SFNC), Multi-Family New Construction (MFNC), Modular, and Land Lease Community (LLC) segments across Australia.
As a Segment Manager, you will develop and execute strategies that increase the adoption of high-value products and solutions, strengthen James Hardie's market position, and deliver sustainable, profitable growth. This role requires a balance of strategic planning and tactical execution to achieve strong commercial outcomes.
This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
What you’ll do
- Lead the development and execution of segment strategies, translating business objectives into actionable growth plans and securing alignment with senior stakeholders.
- Influence key stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful delivery of strategic priorities.
- Drive segment growth by leveraging customer, builder, and installer insights to identify opportunities and inform strategic priorities.
- Develop long-term roadmaps and market positioning strategies tailored to each segment
- Enhance sales team productivity through 1:1 programs, tools, and resources and partner with Sales Capability Manager to create and deliver tailored sales training, coaching guides and conversion tools
- Own and evolve the Co-Creation Program to align with changing needs of builders and consumers across segments.
- Facilitate and coach cross-functional teams in running workshops and design sessions to strengthen segment positioning.
- Support the successful launch of new products by coordinating test-selling activities and translating insights into effective go-to-market strategies.
- Monitor and report on progress of each segment against agreed plans using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle.
- Provide actionable recommendations to optimise delivery of growth and profitability targets, ensuring continuous improvement and agility.
What you’ll bring - Minimum 10 years’ sales experience with a proven record in business development, ideally with major builders and within the building products industry.
- Demonstrated experience working across Australia and/or New Zealand at a national level.
- Familiarity with modular and/or land lease community developments will be highly regarded.
- Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline highly regarded.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to shift seamlessly between strategic and tactical execution.
- Strong project management skills; able to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Resilient, adaptable, and open to feedback.
- Collaborative approach to working within cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).
