James Hardie is on the hunt for an enthusiastic and driven Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our team! This is a great opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges.
As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and maintenance of electrical systems and components within our manufacturing environment.
You’ll be supported by experienced mentors and gain exposure through hands-on experience and professional growth opportunities to help you grow your technical skills and set yourself up for long-term success.
This role will commence in January 2026.
What you’ll do - Learning the products of the business and understanding their applications
- Understanding customer value and the impact on manufacturing and supply chain
- Understanding manufacturing processes and the drivers of quality, cost, safety, reliability, speed, waste, and delay
- Contribute and assist with fault finding and breakdowns
- Plan and conduct down day electrical jobs and factory shutdowns
- Apply structured problem solving to drive continuous improvement within the plant
- Apply problem solving, communication & other skills to deliver on relevant projects
- Deliver all technical tasks to comply with quality, safety and project management/engineering procedures and controls to enable completion on time and within scope
- Effectively contribute to the achievement of team and project goals
- Carry out work in a safe manner, in accordance with Safety procedures as applicable
- Actively participate in improvement projects
What you’ll bring - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical engineering or related discipline
- Basic knowledge of electrical design software and tools.
- Demonstrate a safety-first attitude
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Tech savvy and curious, with high learning agility and flexibility of style
- A desire to grow and develop a long-standing career within the business.
- Previous exposure to engineering such as Vacation or Internship experience advantageous but not essential
