The opportunity 
As a driven and results oriented leader, you will be responsible for driving the performance of payroll across Australia, NZ and Philippines and managing processes and aligning systems to ensure the highest quality and services.
  
You will make an impact on the business by leading transformation projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness of payrolls functionality, and drive standardisation across the region for James Hardie.
  
Some other responsibilities will include:

• Lead the payroll function to ensure that all employees are paid correctly and on-time
• Maintain pay records, associated time keeping data and statistics, leave records and related information ensuring with compliance with legislation, workplace agreements, Company Policy and internal control.
• Provide payroll advice to managers and stakeholders in the business
• Review, enhance and streamline current payroll processes and procedures to ensure consistency and quality assurance, strong audit controls and improved efficiency
• Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to payroll, and submit them to the appropriate parties both internally and externally
• Prepare and lodge all statutory and insurance requirements in respect of payroll
• Manage, verify, and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits including the end of financial year PAYG
• Partner with HR & finance to ensure compliance to company requirements
• Coach, mentor and develop staff to ensure high levels of engagement.
• Manage the provision of all services associated with payroll administration to ensure that employee records are accurate and maintained; and that employees are paid on time, correctly, and entitlements are paid and recorded according to legislation, awards, policies, best practice and legislative requirements.
• Lead and drive the new technology and change process management.
• Lead the training and development of staff on payroll systems, processes, legislation and technology.
• Establish & manage internal control and governance requirements for payroll processes and systems including SOX controls.
• Ad/hoc reporting and queries
• Run payroll related projects as required
• Acting as a safety leader at all times

About you

• Proven management experience in a large volume, complex payroll environment
• Experience managing multiple payrolls
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Working knowledge and understanding of payroll processing, legislative and compliance requirements across ANZ.
• Strong leadership ability with a drive for continuous improvement
