We are on the hunt for an energetic and driven Welder Fitter to join our high performing team in Carole Park, QLD on a permanent basis.

As part of the maintenance team the Fitter will be responsible for improving equipment reliability by undertaking preventative and corrective maintenance as directed. They will help to reduce the effects of unplanned stoppages to operating machines through safe and prompt action in order to return the machinery to a fully safe, operational state. 
 
Key responsibilities: 

• Work as directed from work orders, manuals, prints, and instructions
• Disassemble components and diagnose problems to determine extent of repairs and parts needed
• Set up and operate equipment and machine tools in the assigned area.
• Pre-assemble, position, mount, and install any range of required fixtures, hardware, and accessories on units to meet specifications
• Test installed items as required, determine causes of failures and reassemble or refit sub-assemblies where components are found to be faulty or improperly installed
• Adapt or modify parts and install them to ensure machine functionality
• Possess basic fabrication skills, e.g. cutting, material preparation, in order to accomplish proper fit/retrofit
• Assist with training of peers as required
• Read technical drawings to determine job requirements
• Ability to perform all fitter tasks including assembling machine components and ancillary equipment

About you

• Mechanical Trade Qualifications (Certificate III or higher) in a Fitting / Machining discipline
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role with focus on manufacturing plant machinery and equipment, and with a demonstrated ability to function independently
• Primarily work to be undertaken is hands-on, though there is a requirement to use computers or other information sources to assist you in the performance of your duties.

• Day work - 6:00am starts Monday to Friday
