Hardware Design Engineer in Surrey. Permanent onsite role designing mixed‑signal circuits, schematics, layouts, full lifecycle, with FPGA awareness.
Job Title: Hardware Design Engineer
Location: Surrey
Salary: £60,000 to £75,000
Employment Type: Permanent
Working Arrangements: Onsite working
We’re looking for a Hardware Design Engineer with a passion for mixed‑signal electronics and full project lifecycle ownership. You’ll take designs from concept through to production, working hands-on with circuit design, schematics, PCB layout, and supporting wider engineering teams to deliver robust, high‑performance products.
This role suits someone who thrives in a practical, engineering-led environment and enjoys seeing their work come to life in real systems. You’ll work closely with software, mechanical, and FPGA specialists, so strong cross-functional collaboration is key.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and developing mixed-signal electronic circuits for new and existing products
- Creating and maintaining schematics, circuit diagrams, and PCB layouts
- Taking ownership of designs through the full project lifecycle, from concept to validation
- Supporting prototype builds, testing, debugging, and design improvements
- Working with FPGA engineers and maintaining an appreciation of FPGA integration within hardware systems
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless product development
- Ensuring designs meet compliance, quality, and performance standards
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in mixed-signal hardware design
- Ability to produce high-quality schematics, PCB layouts, and circuit documentation
- Solid understanding of analogue and digital design principles
- Experience working across the full hardware development lifecycle
- Practical, hands-on approach to testing, debugging, and problem-solving
- An appreciation of FPGA-based systems (you don’t need to be an FPGA designer, but you should understand how your hardware interacts with them)
-Comfortable working onsite in a collaborative engineering environment
Why Join?
- Work on technically challenging, real-world engineering problems
- Be part of a close-knit, highly skilled engineering team
- Full ownership of your designs with visibility across the entire product lifecycle
- Stable, permanent role with long-term development opportunities
