This role is pivotal in supporting new product development and enhancing customer-facing documentation.

Key Responsibilities for the Technical Author

• Documentation Creation: Develop, review, and maintain technical documents for a range of existing and new products.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside engineers and other teams to fully understand the products and documentation requirements.
• Content Enhancement: Review and refine technical content on web-based platforms in partnership with the Marketing team.
• Product Familiarisation: Conduct product testing in lab environments to inform user documentation.

What We're Looking For in the Technical Author

• Relevant Education: A degree in a scientific or engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven Writing Experience: Background in technical writing for both products and software.
• Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
• Detail-Oriented: Ability to produce polished, accurate documentation.
• Strong Team Player: Comfortable working across various teams, including international colleagues.
• Proactive Mindset: Enthusiastic about learning and tackling new challenges.

Desirable Extras

• Multimedia Skills: Experience creating technical videos.
• Industry Insight: Familiarity with the photonics industry or similar high-tech sectors.
