Are you practical, tech-curious and interested in helping people use systems better?
BDO Gisborne is looking for a Business Systems & Practice Support Analyst to join our Operations team. This is a varied role supporting the systems, tools and processes that help our accounting teams work effectively and deliver great client service.
You will provide day-to-day support across our practice management, accounting and business systems, help users troubleshoot issues, support process improvements, and contribute to better ways of working across the firm.
Our systems environment will continue to evolve, so you won’t be expected to know every platform from day one. What matters is your aptitude, initiative and willingness to build capability across the systems relevant to the role.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Provide practical support for practice management, accounting and business systems.
- Assist with system access, user onboarding and offboarding, templates, workflows and automations.
- Manage support requests, investigate issues and escalate matters where required.
- Provide Level 1 IT and technology support, including Microsoft 365, Teams and related tools.
- Maintain clear process notes, system documentation and user guidance.
- Support system improvements, upgrades, testing and implementation projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, data quality, controls and user experience.
- Help users build confidence and consistency in how systems are used.
About You We’re open to a range of backgrounds and experience levels. This role may suit someone who:
- Is early in their career and looking to build practical experience across business systems, technology and process improvement.
- Has developed technology capability through study, projects, previous employment or self-directed learning.
- Has experience in accounting, administration, operations or client service and wants to move into a more systems-focused role.
- Has relevant experience from another industry and can bring a practical, user-focused approach to improving how systems are used.
- Already has systems or business improvement experience and is ready to further develop their ownership of support, documentation and improvement initiatives.
You’ll be practical, solutions-focused and comfortable learning new systems. You’ll enjoy troubleshooting, improving processes and helping others work more efficiently.
Experience in a chartered accounting, financial services or professional services environment would be helpful, but is not essential. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Xero-based applications, practice management systems or business process improvement would be an advantage.
