About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Audit Senior to join our dynamic team in Auckland City. You will be responsible for examining financial statements to ensure they provide a true and fair view of financial performance and position. Additionally, you will review accounting systems and control procedures, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with Audit Partners and Managers, gaining valuable experience and contributing to the success of our clients. You will lead audit engagements, manage junior team members, and develop strong client relationships while ensuring compliance with regulatory and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine financial statements to determine their accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Review and evaluate accounting systems and control procedures.
- Make recommendations for improvements to accounting systems and control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with quality and risk management standards.
- Lead audit engagements and manage junior team members.
- Summarize clients' business models and audit risks for the team.
- Ensure audit timelines and deadlines are met.
- Draft client-facing documents such as audit reports and board reports.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Utilize audit software and tools effectively.
Experience We are looking for someone who is experienced, has strong commercial acumen and looking for career growth with:
- 4+ years of audit experience within a professional services firm
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CA or ACCA qualified
- Strong understanding of audit methodology and accounting standards
- String written and oral skills in English
