Bookkeeping | Xero | Payroll | GST | Accounts Administration | Client Services
We are looking for experienced Bookkeepers to join our Agribusiness and Commercial teams at BDO Gisborne.
These are varied and rewarding roles combining bookkeeping, payroll administration, GST preparation, accounts administration, client services, and Xero support for a portfolio of valued clients. Working closely with business owners, farmers, and our accounting teams, you'll play an important role in keeping client finances organised, compliant, and running smoothly.

What You’ll Do
- Manage bookkeeping and payroll administration for a portfolio of clients
- Prepare GST returns and provide general tax administration support
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Assist with client invoicing and compliance administration
- Support clients with Xero and day-to-day financial queries
- Build strong client and team relationships through exceptional service
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Provide administrative support to the Agribusiness or Commercial team as required
Skills and Experience
- At least three years' experience in bookkeeping, payroll, accounts administration, or accounting support
- Experience with GST, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and payroll
- Strong Xero and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- A proactive approach and willingness to support a variety of tasks
- A professional, ethical, and collaborative attitude
