We're looking for an experienced IT Trainer to join our National Informational Technology team in Auckland. Reporting to the Digital Projects & Transformation Manager, you'll help Partners and staff build the confidence and practical skills to use technology effectively, securely and consistently across the BDO network.
The Opportunity
As IT Trainer, you'll design and deliver accessible, engaging learning experiences that improve user adoption, confidence and productivity. Your work will span business productivity applications, document management, practice management, client relationship management systems, and emerging AI capabilities including Microsoft Copilot and other approved AI tools.
You'll partner with business and technology teams to identify capability gaps, support organisational change and embed effective ways of working through designing and delivering learning experiences across the BDO network. This is an ideal opportunity for a practical, user-centred trainer who enjoys translating technology into clear, relevant learning that people can apply every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders across the BDO network to identify learning opportunities and improve efficiency through better use of current and future technology.
- Design, deliver and continuously improve induction training, refresher sessions, role-based learning, system rollouts and targeted digital capability training for Partners and staff.
- Assess user learning needs and digital skill gaps, then develop structured training plans that improve confidence, efficiency and adoption.
- Deliver inclusive in-person, virtual and self-service learning experiences for different learning styles.
- Create and maintain practical user guides, quick reference aids, videos, knowledge resources that help staff apply approved tools effectively in their daily work.
- Build awareness and practical capability in Microsoft Copilot and other approved AI tools, promoting safe, effective and business-relevant use.
- Partner with business leaders, system owners and project teams to support application adoption, new capabilities and changes to digital ways of working.
- Support organisational change through readiness activities, communication content and targeted training interventions.
- Work with National Information Technology team and business stakeholders to improve digital literacy, streamline the user experience and increase value from technology investments.
- Measure training effectiveness through feedback, usage trends and capability outcomes, using insights to continuously improve content and impact.
What We're Looking For
You'll be a clear and engaging IT trainer who can turn technical concepts into practical business language for diverse users.
You'll likely bring:
- Proven experience designing and delivering technology training, digital adoption initiatives, onboarding programmes or capability uplift activities.
- Experience creating end-to-end learning content and facilitating training in group, one-to-one, virtual and self-service formats.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and services, including modern collaboration, communication, document management and productivity tools.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and user-centred approach.
- Experience developing user guides, quick reference materials, knowledge articles and learning resources that support sustained adoption.
- Awareness of emerging workplace AI capabilities and a responsible, security-conscious approach to promoting approved tools.
- Microsoft certification, a training or adult learning qualification, or experience with organisational change, Microsoft 365 rollouts, AI adoption, professional services or large complex environments would be advantageous.
