About the role

As a Senior Accountant in our busy BAS team, you’ll work with a wide mix of clients and get involved in more than just compliance accounting. We’re a team that’s genuinely part of the Hawke’s Bay community, and we like to keep things practical, down-to-earth, and supportive.

What you’ll bring

To feel comfortable and hit the ground running, you’ll have:

• Around 3+ years’ solid accounting experience in a CA environment
• CA qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Confidence managing the full accounting process with minimal supervision
• A focus on quality accounting and advisory work—preparing and/or reviewing financial statements, tax returns, other statutory returns, and contributing to a range of advisory tasks
• Proven experience guiding and coaching other accounting team members
• Strong Xero skills/knowledge
• Proficient in using document and workflow management tools
• A self-starter who enjoys delivering outcomes and meeting deadlines
• Great communication skills (you can explain things clearly and build trust)
• A genuine interest in building strong relationships—both with clients and across the team
