 We’re currently seeking a Management Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on turning data into insight, driving performance, and partnering with clients to help them grow.
 About the Role
 As a Management Accountant at BDO Gisborne, you’ll play a key role in supporting our clients’ success through insightful financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting. You’ll work with a diverse range of businesses, helping them understand their numbers, improve performance, and achieve their goals. You’ll also contribute to our team’s growth by sharing your expertise and supporting continuous improvement.
 Key Responsibilities
 
 - Prepare and analyse management accounts, annual accounts, budgets, and forecasts for clients.
  - Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to support client decision-making.
  - Assist clients with cash flow management, cost control, and profitability improvement.
  - Support the implementation and optimisation of accounting systems and processes.
  - Mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive team culture.
  - Ensure compliance with relevant standards and maintain high-quality work.
  
 About You
 We’re looking for someone who is: 
 - Experienced in management accounting, with a proven ability to deliver insightful financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
  - CA or CPA qualified (or working towards it), with a relevant degree.
  - Proficient with accounting software, particularly Xero, and experience using Figured is an advantage. 
  - Up to date with NZ accounting standards and compliance requirements.
  - Analytical, detail-oriented, and confident communicating financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  - Curious, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning.
  - Familiar with the agriculture and horticulture sectors, with the ability to apply management accounting principles to support clients in these industries.
