About the Role

As a Payroll Lead within our Business Services Outsourcing Team you will take a leadership role in overseeing end-to-end payroll operations for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services, maintaining compliance with New Zealand payroll legislation and managing client-specific requirements.

In addition, you will supervise and mentor a team of payroll professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and driving continuous improvement in payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing across multiple clients and pay cycles.
• Lead and support a team of payroll specialists.
• Ensure compliance with NZ payroll laws and client requirements.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and reporting.
• Manage IRD communications on behalf of clients.
• Drive process improvements and best practices.
• Act as a senior point of contact for payroll queries.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Solid understanding of New Zealand payroll legislation.
• Experience with payroll systems such as iPayroll, Employment Hero, and Xero.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client needs.
• Previous experience in a complex or fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
