We are seeking an experienced Regional Business Development Manager or knowledgeable Tradesperson to drive new business growth across a group of established HVAC/R and electrical businesses operating throughout the Lower North Island.
Representing the brands Excel Refrigeration and ICE Electrical, this role will support both commercial and industrial service operations across multiple regional branches. Our teams deliver high quality refrigeration, heating, ventilation, cooling, and electrical solutions to clients nationwide.
The Role
As part of our continued growth strategy, this newly developed role will play a key part in driving sales performance, strengthening client relationships, and supporting business growth across all branches.
The successful candidate will work closely with regional Branch Managers to introduce business development initiatives, improve sales systems, and support revenue growth across the region.
Core responsibilities will include:
- Generate new business opportunities across commercial and industrial markets
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline across multiple branches
- Improve sales follow up processes and reporting discipline
- Work alongside Branch Managers to develop target accounts and growth strategies
- Coordinate proposal development and pricing processes with internal teams
- Help establish a repeatable and scalable regional sales model
- Support cross selling opportunities between HVAC/R and electrical services
- Deliver branch revenue growth targets while maintaining budgeted gross profit margins
Candidate Profile
To be successful in this role, you will bring proven experience in profitable business development or have a reputable career in commercial and industrial trade environments.
You will be relationship focused, commercially minded, and confident working across a large region. An existing industry network and the ability to identify and convert opportunities into long term client relationships will be needed.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong new business development capability
- Ability to work autonomously across a large region
- Commercial awareness with a focus on both growth and profitability
- Confidence in building relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders
- Strong exposure to commercial and industrial customers
- Ability to introduce structure and process where required
- Credibility working alongside operational managers and business owners
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Lower North Island

Remuneration package includes:
- Base salary of NZD $130,000 - $150,000
- Performance incentives linked to revenue growth and GP performance
