About the opportunity
Allura Partners is working with a fast-growing Melbourne organisation that's investing heavily in technology to drive growth. The focus now is on building strong foundations: a connected enterprise platform, a modern data layer, and putting AI and automation to work across the business.
They're after a Principal Solutions / Enterprise Architect to own architecture across security, cloud, and applications. It's a lean, high-impact team, so your decisions will have a direct and visible effect on how the business runs.

The role
Reporting to the CTO and working alongside an experienced Integration Architect, you'll be the senior technical authority on how the technology landscape is designed, governed, and evolved.
That includes:

• Owning the security architecture roadmap across identity, network, application and data, using the Microsoft security stack (Entra ID, Defender, Purview, Sentinel)
• Setting up and chairing the Architecture Review Board, and embedding secure-by-design principles
• Owning the target state across Azure and AWS, including landing zones, governance, resilience and DR
• Setting standards for infrastructure as code and workload placement
• Guiding the architecture and governance of the Microsoft Fabric data platform and the Copilot rollout
• Owning the application roadmap, rationalising and modernising core platforms where it makes sense
• Leading build vs buy assessments, platform selection and vendor governance
• Building out EA artefacts (principles, standards, reference architectures, roadmaps) that suit the size and pace of the business
• Mentoring and lifting capability across the wider tech team

About you

• 10+ years as a Principal Solutions Architect or Enterprise Architect, with breadth across security, cloud and applications
• Deep, current hands-on Azure experience, plus M365, Fabric and Copilot, and working knowledge of AWS
• Strong security architecture grounding in cloud and hybrid environments
• Comfortable as a senior individual contributor without a big architecture function around you
• A delivery mindset. You set the cadence, follow through, and turn strategy into executed plans
• Able to explain architecture choices in commercial terms to finance, senior leaders, and the ELT

Highly regarded

• Generative AI platform architecture on Azure AI Foundry or Amazon Bedrock (RAG, guardrails, evaluation)
• API-led integration experience (MuleSoft or similar)
• Lakehouse or Microsoft Fabric data platform experience
