Allura Partners are delighted to be partnering with a PE backed Technology business on a search for a Head of Finance. You'll own the finance function end to end, that covers the numbers the board and investors rely on. It's a hands-on leadership role, with a clear pathway to CFO as the business grows.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting and control

• Own month-end close, statutory reporting and the annual audit
• Produce monthly board and investor reporting packs, including PE sponsor reporting
• Manage revenue recognition under AASB 15 across varied revenue streams, including recurring, transactional and project-based revenue
• Oversee capitalisation of software development costs and R&D Tax Incentive claims
• Maintain a strong control environment as headcount and transaction volume grow

Commercial insight

• Own the key operating metrics for the business, including revenue growth, gross margin, customer retention and customer acquisition cost
• Build unit economics by customer segment, product and channel
• Partner with Sales, Product and Operations on pricing, margin and deal structuring
• Be the go-to commercial sounding board for the CEO and leadership team

FP&A and cash

• Lead the annual budget and rolling forecasts
• Own cash flow forecasting, runway and burn management
• Build scenario models to support hiring plans, market expansion and capital decisions

Strategic and transactional

• Support capital raises, debt facilities and M&A activity (due diligence, data rooms, integration)
• Prepare the business for a future exit or next funding round

Systems and team

• Lead finance system upgrades as the business scales (e.g. Xero to NetSuite or similar ERP)
• Automate reporting and reduce manual work
• Build, lead and develop a high-performing finance team

About you:

• CA or CPA qualified
• Big 4 trained
• 10+ years post-qualification, with at least 3 years leading a finance function
• Experience in a high-growth technology business
• PE or VC-backed experience, including board and investor reporting
• Strong working knowledge of AASB 15, capitalised development costs and R&D Tax Incentive claims
• Advanced modelling skills and a commercial mindset. You're comfortable challenging forecasts and decisions, not just reporting on them
• Experience with a finance system implementation or migration
• Hands-on and pragmatic, with experience building and developing a small team
