About the Company
Our client is an established Australian bank currently delivering one of the largest business testing programs in its history. Following a recent merger, the business is consolidating onto a single core banking platform, with serious investment in testing capability to support the transition.
About the Role
The Test Analyst role sits at the centre of business validation testing across customer journeys, operational processes, migration validation, reconciliation and go live readiness. You will coordinate execution across multiple internal teams and vendors, and report progress clearly enough to support migration decisions at Program Manager and SteerCo level.
Benefits
- Central role on a career defining core banking migration, with genuine visibility at program and SteerCo level
- Scope to build the testing environment, collateral and libraries that future migration cycles will run on, rather than inheriting someone else's framework
- Freedom to identify and introduce automation across test creation and tooling integration
- Broad exposure across banking operations, from customer journeys and reconciliation through to payments, fraud and digital channels
Duties / Key Responsibilities - Plan and execute business validation testing across end to end banking processes, covering customer journeys, operational processes, reconciliation activities and mock migration cycles
- Maintain requirements to test case traceability, structured test execution and audit quality evidence throughout every cycle
- Run defect triage and manage defects through to resolution with delivery teams and external vendors
- Produce execution and readiness reporting for Program Manager and SteerCo audiences, including migration decision support and go live readiness assessment
- Build reusable test collateral and libraries for future cycles, and identify automation opportunities including Jira to ALM integration
Skills and Experience Essential:
- Strong business validation testing background, with a track record validating end to end banking processes rather than technical components in isolation
- Test governance discipline: requirements to test case traceability, structured execution, defect triage and evidence management to audit standard
- Hands on experience with enterprise test management tooling, particularly the HP ALM and OpenText ALM family, and integration with Jira
- Reporting capability suited to a SteerCo and Program Manager audience
- Communication and stakeholder engagement strong enough to drive outcomes across business, delivery and vendor teams
Highly regarded:
- Core banking migration, merger or mock conversion experience
- Experience building a test environment or Centre of Excellence that can be leveraged for future cycles, rather than only working within one
- Automated testing exposure, including automated creation of test libraries
- Leadership or management of test execution teams
- Knowledge of banking operations, CPS 230 critical processes and ancillary systems such as CRM, AML, fraud, payments and digital channels
