About the role
This is a newly scoped leadership role reporting into senior management, with direct accountability for the Commercial Operations team. You'll lead a small team responsible for order processing, purchasing, inventory control and invoicing, while working closely with Sales, Finance, Service Delivery and Product Development as the key point of contact for all things commercial.
You'll own the ConnectWise platform across the business, along with administration of Vendor, Tender Panel and Customer portal logins and the Commercial Operations documentation held in SharePoint and the internal Knowledgebase.
You'll also govern pricing frameworks and discount approvals, and provide financial oversight on transactions above set thresholds. It's a role with genuine influence, sitting right at the intersection of commercial strategy and operational delivery.
Duties/Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Commercial Operations team, setting clear expectations and priorities
- Own and administer the ConnectWise platform across opportunities, orders, purchasing, invoicing and agreements, along with Vendor, Tender Panel and Customer portal logins
- Manage the Price Book and pricing governance framework, including discount approval delegation
- Review financial transactions above set thresholds, including purchase orders, invoices and bank payments, to confirm accuracy and validity
- Partner with Sales, Finance and Service Delivery to improve commercial processes and support revenue and margin outcomes
Skills and experience
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in commercial operations, revenue operations or business operations in a B2B environment, ideally within technology, managed services or telecommunications.
- You'll have proven experience leading and developing a team, along with advanced working knowledge of ConnectWise Manage or a comparable PSA or ERP platform such as Salesforce, ServiceNow or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Comfort administering system access and portal logins, and maintaining documentation within SharePoint or a similar knowledge management system, will also be important.
- Experience owning pricing models, price books or commercial governance frameworks is essential, as is a track record of reviewing contracts, purchase orders and invoices for commercial risk and financial accuracy.
