Allura Partners are delighted to be supporting a mid-cap private equity firm with their search for a Financial Controller to work in a recent Tech/SaaS acquisition. The business is likely to double their revenue over the next 12 months through organic growth and a couple of acquisitions which will of course result in a genuine progression plan for this individual.

Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Leadership

• Lead the full financial operations function: month-end, year-end, revenue accounting, balance sheet strength and financial controls
• Own SaaS-specific revenue recognition (AASB15), deferred revenue, subscription billing flows and ARR/MRR reporting accuracy
• Oversee cashflow, treasury and working capital with a strategic eye on runway and burn-rate management
• Build capability within a growing finance team; support hiring and mentoring as the function matures

Commercial Insights & SaaS Metrics

• Deliver clear, data-driven insights across ARR, MRR, churn, NRR, CAC, LTV, payback and cohort performance
• Partner with Product, Sales, GTM and Operations to model scenarios, pricing strategy, and commercial opportunities
• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasts and rolling planning cycles; ensure assumptions are realistic and aligned to growth plans
• Produce high-impact board and investor reporting packs with clear commentary, KPIs and trend analysis

Systems, Automation & Scalability

• Champion automation and process optimisation across the finance tech stack
• Strengthen internal controls while designing scalable processes fit for rapid expansion
• Drive operational excellence across billing, collections, revenue operations and system integrations

Governance, Compliance & External Stakeholders

• Manage external relationships including auditors, tax advisors and investors
• Support statutory reporting, compliance and audit preparedness
• Ensure quality financial data and reporting discipline as the company prepares for future funding rounds or potential exit

About You

• CA/CPA qualified with 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in SaaS, tech or high-growth digital businesses
• Deep understanding of subscription revenue models and AASB15/IFRS15
• Tech-savvy: strong grasp of modern SaaS finance systems, integrations and automation opportunities
• Commercially minded with the ability to translate financial and operational data into strategic insights
• Comfortable operating in scale-up environments—hands-on, adaptable and solutions-focused
• Confident communicator who can influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams
