About the role
This Fund Accountant role sits within a dynamic fund accounting team. Reporting to the Fund Accounting Manager, you’ll take ownership of critical accounting and operational processes, gaining hands-on experience across fund financials, investor distributions, tax compliance, and audit. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented candidate eager to broaden technical skills and commercial knowledge in a growth-focused environment.
Duties / Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and unit pricing
- Manage investor distributions and ensure custodian instructions are executed accurately and on time
- Oversee vendor invoices, payments, and expenditure controls
- Partner with fund administrators, auditors, custodians, and tax advisors to support month-end close and financial reporting
- Support treasury management, investor queries, and transaction advisory
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and maintaining a strong financial control framework
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and audit deliverables
Skills and Experience - Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting, ideally in fund accounting OR a Big4 First Mover (with a focus on Funds/FS/Real Estate)
- Experience with real estate funds is advantageous
- CA/CPA qualified, or actively working towards qualification
- Full working rights in Australia (visa sponsorship not available)
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Positive, proactive, and motivated to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency
