Quality Assurance Engineer - (Playwright/ Cypress)

About the role
 
Reporting to the Program Test Manager, the Quality Engineer will work closely with Engineers, BAs, Product Owners, and Designers. The role plays a key part in embedding quality throughout the development lifecycle, focusing on functional and automated testing in customer-facing digital environments.
 
This role will be 50/50 manual and automation.

Duties / Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test cases and testing notes
• Partner with Engineers to ensure robust test coverage across all levels
• Drive squad accountability for quality through Agile best practices
• Maintain automation test suites and contribute to CI/CD practices
• Support functional and non-functional testing, including performance and security

Skills and experience

Essential:

• 5–10 years across web, mobile, and backend platforms
• Strong Agile/Scrum background (3–5 years)
• Proficient in Java, JavaScript, or Kotlin, and version control tools like Git
• Experience with Cypress, Rest Assured, Splunk, and Datadog
• Proven skills in system, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement

Preferred:

• Experience in high-volume consumer platforms, particularly involving complex transactional systems
• Exposure to non-functional testing (performance, accessibility, security)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation pipelines
