Data & Analytics Lead | Sydney (Hybrid)
 
Overview
Allura Partners has been retained to appoint a Data & Analytics Lead for a PE-backed national platform. This newly created role will build a unified reporting ecosystem (Power BI + ERP/CRM data) and deliver portfolio-wide insights that drive operational and financial outcomes. It’s a greenfield mandate with high visibility, autonomy, and a clear path to building a team as the platform scales (15–20 acquisitions per year to be integrated onto a single reporting environment).

About the Company
Our client is a PE-backed, buy-and-build platform in residential services, headquartered in Sydney. The business is scaling through high-velocity M&A and investing in a centralised data & reporting capability to enable growth, benchmark performance across operating companies, and support executive decision-making.

The Opportunity (What You’ll Do)

• Design and build the reporting ecosystem: stand up and evolve a single source of truth across ERP/CRM and operational systems; deliver Group, Regional, and Portfolio dashboards in Power BI.
• Greenfield build and scale: establish models and pipelines that can ingest data from 15–20 acquisitions per year, standardise definitions, and bring new operating companies onto the platform.
• Commercial analytics: run cross-portfolio analyses (performance, spend trends, benchmarking) to inform executive decisions and value-creation priorities.
• Governance and standards: own data structures and definitions; steward the “model tenant” pattern for field-service tooling to ensure consistency across entities.
• Stakeholder enablement: train and enable leaders to use dashboards effectively; translate business questions into analytical products; partner with external advisors, software vendors, and portfolio leadership.
• Hands-on delivery: blend BI and data engineering to ship usable, reliable outputs while engaging senior executives and blue-collar business owners in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Power BI suite (semantic models, datasets, dashboards) across Group/Regional/Portfolio levels.
• Develop data models for benchmarking, efficiency/spend trend analysis, and portfolio performance tracking.
• Partner with integration teams so each newly acquired business is onboarded to the single reporting ecosystem rapidly and consistently.
• Own and evolve governed data structures (including the model tenant for field-service platform), managing change requests from operating companies.
• Drive continuous improvement of reports and metrics based on executive feedback and evolving business needs.

About You (Skills & Experience)

• BI/analytics experience with hands-on delivery in Power BI, SQL, and data modelling; solid grasp of ETL/ELT patterns.
• Proven experience unifying ERP/CRM/operational data into executive-grade dashboards and decision tools.
• Strong stakeholder presence: able to translate between executives and on-the-tools business owners; clear, commercial storytelling.
