Cloud Network Engineer (AWS Focus)

About the company
This Sydney-based financial services business has fully transitioned to AWS and is now focused on optimising its cloud-native network environment. With a culture built on collaboration, innovation and growth, the company is investing in future-ready cloud infrastructure.

Duties / Key responsibilities

• Design and manage AWS networking components (VPCs, routing, DirectConnect, VPNs)
• Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IAM, security groups)
• Automate infrastructure using IaC tools and scripting
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise network performance and security
• Collaborate with developers, service desk and cyber teams to support business outcomes

Skills and experience

• 3–7 years’ experience in network engineering, ideally with AWS exposure (open to mid-senior candidates)
• Strong experience with AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Load Balancing, etc.)
• Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), firewall technologies (Palo Alto)
• Hands-on with IaC (e.g. CDK, Terraform), scripting (Python, Bash), and monitoring tools
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking desirable
