AWS Cyber Security Engineer to take ownership of cloud security initiatives across a complex, environment.

You’ll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing modern security controls across cloud infrastructure, working alongside architecture and platform teams to ensure secure, scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and enforce security controls across cloud infrastructure and services (primarily AWS).
• Implement and manage core security technologies: firewalls, proxies, DLP, IAM, SIEM, and endpoint tools.
• Assess and enhance the security posture of cloud environments through infrastructure as code (IaC) and automated solutions.
• Conduct regular threat modelling, vulnerability scanning, and risk assessments across multi-cloud environments.
• Investigate and respond to cloud security incidents and lead post-incident reviews and remediation efforts.
• Stay ahead of emerging threats using threat intelligence and proactive mitigation strategies.
• Ensure documentation and security standards are continuously maintained and aligned to compliance requirements.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations on securing platforms, systems, and processes in line with business objectives.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in cyber security roles with a focus on cloud security engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS security services and tooling.
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare).
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security frameworks, principles, and architectures.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with enterprise-grade security tools such as Palo Alto, Zscaler, CrowdStrike, or similar.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, CISM, Palo Alto, Zscaler) highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills – able to partner with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with a strong focus on risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
