About the company

A large scale Health Care business is investing in modernising its data landscape. As part of a greenfield transformation, the company is building a scalable, future-ready data platform to support business intelligence, analytics and operational reporting needs.

About the role
This senior hire will design, own and grow the core data platform, including pipelines, tooling, governance and integration. Reporting into the GM of Data, you’ll help shape the tech stack, own data architecture, and later lead a small team of engineers.

Long term this role will grow into a Data Engineering Manager role as the team scales out. This is an excellent opportunity to join a greenfield project, working hands on but having long term career progression.

They are based in Sydney and work in a hybrid set up - 2-3 days on site and 2-3 days remote.

Duties/Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the enterprise data platform and pipelines
• Lead data integration across ERP, HCM and operational systems
• Define and evolve the platform’s architecture, tooling and governance
• Liaise with Cyber, IT, and business teams on compliance and performance
• Grow and lead a high-performing data team

Skills and experience

• Broad experience across data engineering, platform design, and architecture
• Familiarity with Azure and on-prem environments
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, APIs and visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience designing scalable pipelines and governed data environments
• Strong communicator, comfortable interfacing with stakeholders
• Previous experience in greenfield or rapidly evolving data environments
• Prior leadership or team-building experience preferred
