We are seeking a Podiatrist Grade 1 or Grade 2 to work in a full time (80 hours/fortnight) capacity based at Nhill. ABOUT THE ROLE
To provide Podiatry services to acute hospital inpatients, community clients and aged care residents.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
Bachelor of Podiatry, or equivalent qualifications as recognised by the Podiatrist Registration Board of Victoria.
Have appropriate skills/experience as a base grade practicing clinician.
The ability to work independently without supervision and as a member of the Podiatry Department and Multidisciplinary health team. Must be effective in a team and be able to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility.
Possess highly developed communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate effectively with peers and other professionals and speak to community groups as required.
Must be self-motivated and be responsible and responsive to a situation where a high level of autonomy exists.
Willingness to work in a rural setting.
Desirable:
Previous placement or work experience in a hospital/healthcare setting.
Have experience and understanding of issues specific to provision of services in rural and remote areas.
Demonstrate skills in outpatients, with good manual therapy skills.
Strong interest and understanding of Podiatry for aged care residents.
Awareness of the Accreditation process.
Have experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Possess exceptional time management and organisational skills.
Have the potential of leadership qualities and skills.
Competence in using computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other databases such as iCare, isoft and Uniti.
Have experience utilising the My Aged Care portal is also desirable.
Demonstrate flexibility to manage a diverse caseload.
PRE-REQUISITES:
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Working with Children Check.
Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
Australian Driver’s Licence
KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Effectively manage a Podiatry caseload across acute, aged care and community settings.
Actively contribute as a team member to the effective operation of the Podiatry Department, including attendance at regular team meetings.
Work effectively and collaboratively within the broader WWHS and Community Health Team context.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with external agencies and strategic partners in relation to effective delivery of Podiatry services and community development across the Wimmera.
