We are seeking a Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant to work in a part time (16 hours/fortnight) capacity based at Nhill (Iona Digby Harris Home).
ABOUT THE ROLE
Provide a Leisure and Lifestyle Program for Residential Aged Care Residents, on both a group and individual basis.
In this role you must consider resident likes, preferences, existing community, and family involvement.
Work within a multi-disciplinary team and consult with nursing staff and Allied Health staff regarding appropriate activities for individual residents.
Maintain accurate records, appropriate documentation and statistics relevant to the Leisure and Lifestyle Program.
Liaise with, and coordinate support from nursing and other staff, in enabling residents to attend and participate in Leisure and Lifestyle programs.
Report any concerns regarding the welfare and deviation to health status of any resident to the Nurse Unit Manager or delegate.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
Effective communication and organisational skills.
Have a clear understanding of the Aged Care Standards pertaining to residents Leisure and Lifestyle.
Have efficient time management skills devoted to resident’s personal lifestyle programs, outings, required documentation and planning.
Desirable:
Qualification in Certificate III Individual Support or equivalent field.
Previous experience working in Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant position or field.
Competence in using computer programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook and electronic resident documentation system and other databases.
Demonstrate flexibility to manage a diverse caseload.
PRE-REQUISITES:
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Working with Children Check
Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
Australian Driver’s License.
