The Operating Theatre Nurse is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures by setting up the room before the operation, working with the surgeon during surgery and preparing the patient for the move to the recovery room for observation.
The Operating Theatre Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring a sterile environment, providing necessary instruments and supplies to the surgical team, and participating the needs of the surgeons and other healthcare professionals throughout the operation
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
Effective communication and organisational skills.
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital perioperative setting.
Recent Scrub/Scout experience.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to problem solve and prioritise tasks.
Desirable, but not essential:
Holding or working towards a Post Graduate qualification on Peri-operative Nursing
PRE-REQUISITES:
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Working with Children Check.
Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
