Import Clerk – Airfreight (CDS Clearance)

Salary: Up to £30,000 (potentially higher for the right person)

Recruitable Staffing Solutions are proudly recruiting on behalf of our client in Birmingham for an experienced Import Clerk to join their busy team. If you have a background in clearing airfreight shipments through HMRC’s CDS system and are ready for your next challenge, we want to hear from you!
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Complete customs clearance for airfreight shipments using the CDS system
• Liaise with airlines, HMRC, and customers to ensure smooth and timely clearance
• Prepare and verify all import documentation, ensuring compliance with UK customs regulations
• Resolve any queries or issues related to customs clearance or shipment delays
• Keep clients updated on shipment status and maintain accurate records

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience clearing airfreight shipments through HMRC (CDS system experience is essential)
• Strong understanding of UK customs procedures and import documentation
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident communicator, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Team player with a proactive and reliable approach

Salary:
Up to £30,000 per annum, with flexibility to offer more for an outstanding candidate.
