Build the standard.
Our client is a growing aerospace and defense manufacturer scaling its U.S. operations to support current and future defense and advanced manufacturing programs. As the business expands across machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, and sustainment, quality is being built into the foundation, not bolted on after the fact.
 
As Quality Manager, you won't be starting from a blank page, you'll be building on a mature, proven Quality Management System already established within the broader organization, applying lessons learned and best practices while adapting processes to fit the operational, regulatory, and customer requirements of the U.S. market. Success here means balancing standardization with pragmatism: preserving the integrity of a proven system while tailoring it to a growing workforce and evolving customer base.
 
What You'll Do

• Establish and continuously improve a scalable Quality Management System for the U.S. operation.
• Apply proven quality practices from an established global operation, adapting them to the U.S. operating environment.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
• Lead the internal audit program and coordinate external certification, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Drive CAPA, root cause analysis, and systemic continuous improvement using recognized quality methodologies.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to embed quality into day-to-day work rather than treat it as a separate function.
• Act as the primary quality point of contact for customers and suppliers, including leading and supporting audits.
• Build the quality capability - people, processes, and metrics - that supports the business's next phase of growth.

What We're Looking For
You've built or scaled a quality function before.  You're equally comfortable in a management review and on the shop floor, and you see quality as a business enabler - not a compliance checkbox.

• Experience implementing, improving, or scaling a Quality Management System within manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environments.
• Comfort adapting proven quality systems to a changing, growing business while maintaining compliance.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management principles.
• Experience leading internal and external audits.
• Demonstrated experience managing Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes and root cause investigations.
• Broad understanding of manufacturing processes -  machining, welding, assembly, and production operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances.

Desirable

• Experience supporting the growth or stand-up of a new manufacturing operation or business unit.
• Experience transferring or implementing quality systems across multiple sites or regions.
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Lead Auditor qualification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Compensation
Base salary $130,000+ commensurate with experience, plus a competitive benefits package including health coverage, 401(k) match, paid holidays, and paid time off.
 
Eligibility
This role supports work governed by U.S. export control regulations. Candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR (22 CFR 120.62) - including U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and certain protected individuals.
