The Plumbing Project Manager & Estimator is responsible for managing plumbing construction projects while also preparing accurate and competitive estimates. This role requires strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, general contractors, and clients. The ideal candidate is good at managing positive relationships through concise communication that is collaborative, is self motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of balancing project management responsibilities with estimating workload.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Project Management

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee plumbing construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, and manpower plans in coordination with field supervisors.
• Manage material procurement, equipment scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and internal teams.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality control, and verify compliance with specifications, codes, and safety standards.
• Review and approve invoices, change orders, and project documentation.
• Resolve project issues promptly to maintain timelines and profitability.
• Ensure completion of project closeout documentation, including as-builts, warranties, and O&M manuals.

Estimating

• Evaluate detailed takeoffs and prepare cost estimates for plumbing construction work in light commercial, multi-family, and residential markets.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine project scope.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop complete and competitive bid proposals with accurate labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Participate in bid reviews, value engineering, and project handoff meetings.
• Track bid outcomes, update pricing databases, and contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes.

Skills & Qualifications: 
 
Required

• 3+ years of experience in plumbing project management and estimating in commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, codes, and industry best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license for jobsite visits.

Preferred

• Journeyman or Master Plumber license.
• Experience in design-build projects.
• Experience with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or similar software.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to visit active construction sites, including walking, climbing, or standing for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
