Job Summary
We're hiring an Electrical Controls Engineer to support the design and development of advanced precision cleaning and wet processing tools for the semiconductor industry. This role is ideal for a hands-on, self-driven engineer with a solid foundation in electrical design and a strong understanding of control systems, P&IDs, and manufacturing environments. You'll be a key player in designing schematics, supporting builds, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery.
Primary Purpose of the Role
- Design and prepare electrical power schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, PLC I/O lists, pneumatic control schematics, and process plumbing diagrams.
- Contribute to quoting and estimating by providing accurate design concepts and component lists.
- Review project specs to ensure safety, function, and manufacturability before generating preliminary engineering packages.
- Work cross-functionally with engineers, technicians, and production teams to deliver complete, cost-effective solutions.
- Support manufacturing by troubleshooting electrical systems and updating documentation to resolve production issues.
- Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system; source non-standard components with vendors and purchasing teams.
- Assist in preparing operations and maintenance manuals for completed equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives with a collaborative and positive mindset.
Requirements - Education: Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of P&ID diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with PLC hardware (limited programming experience needed).
- Working knowledge of low voltage systems, NEC standards, and basic relay logic.
- Understanding of process variables (temperature, flow, pressure, level) and associated instrumentation.
- Awareness of Ethernet networking principles and components.
- 2D CAD experience (AutoCAD, DraftSight) preferred but not essential.
- Soft Skills:
- Demonstrated initiative, independence, and ownership over engineering projects.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
