Job Summary:

Ground Works Land Design is hiring a Landscape Design Assistant to support our growing landscape architecture team. You will collaborate with senior designers and project managers to help bring high-end residential and commercial landscapes & hardscapes to life. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for an entry-level role to gain hands-on experience and grow within a fast-paced, design-focused environment. The ideal candidate is looking to gain experience and has a desire to grow with the team, to grow into a possible leadership role.

Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000 Annually

Your Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of landscape design concepts, including site planning, plant selection, and material specification.
• Support senior designers in preparing design presentations, concept drawings, and technical documents.
• Collaborate with other team members, including project managers and contractors, to ensure the seamless integration of landscape designs into larger projects.
• Assist in managing project timelines, ensuring that all deliverables are met according to deadlines.
• Participate in client meetings and help translate their needs and preferences into design concepts.
• Stay up-to-date on landscape design trends, industry standards, and new technologies to bring fresh ideas to the team.

What We’re Looking For:

• 1-2 years of experience in landscape design or a related field (this includes internships or freelance work)
• Familiar with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of plant materials and sustainable design principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with creative problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of construction documentation and techniques is a plus.

Bonus Points For:

• Familiarity with GIS and landscape analysis tools.
• Experience with site grading and stormwater management.
• An understanding of local zoning regulations and code compliance.
• Hands-on experience with Vectorworks & Adobe Suite.
