Product Owner - Insurance Transformation | Sydney or Melbourne | Hybrid| Immediate Start

About the Role We’re hiring a Product Owner to help drive one of Australia’s largest insurance transformation programs. This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape core customer and operational journeys across policy, claims, billing, and digital channels.
  
If you’ve worked in insurance, core platforms, Guidewire, Duck Creek, enterprise regulatory uplift, or complex multi-squad delivery, we want to talk.
  
This role suits a delivery-focused Product Owner (or a Lead BA who has transitioned into PO) with Insurance experience and the ability to operate confidently in a rapid, high-pressure transformation environment.
  
What you’ll do

• Own the product backlog across a key transformation stream
• Shape product vision for core insurance workflows
• Define product vision, requirements, and strategic outcomes aligned to business objectives
• Lead and own outcomes across Guidewire PolicyCenter and/or BillingCenter delivery squads
• Partner with business stakeholders to clarify needs and shape the digital product roadmap
• Work closely with developers, BAs, tech leads, architects and mixed vendor teams (approx. 20 per squad)
• Partner with SMEs in underwriting, claims, billing and digital
• Translate complex business processes into clear, actionable user stories
• Lead cross-functional squads through discovery → delivery
• Manage dependencies across platforms, vendors, and internal teams

  
What you bring

• Experience as a Product Owner or Senior/Lead BA ready to step up
• Insurance domain knowledge (policy lifecycle, claims, underwriting, billing)
• Exposure to Guidewire or core insurance systems (PolicyCenter, ClaimsCenter, BillingCenter) is a big advantage
• Strong Agile capability — refinement, prioritisation, sprint planning
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, multi-squad environments
