Bring your practical procurement expertise to an organisation building capability and strengthening its commercial foundations.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll support procurement activity across a broad and varied spend portfolio. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure sourcing and procurement processes are well structured, commercially sound and deliver strong value-for-money outcomes. You don’t need to arrive with an extensive list of qualifications. We’re much more interested in the practical experience, sound judgement and procurement capability you can bring.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities across a range of categories
- Working with stakeholders to understand requirements and develop fit-for-purpose procurement approaches
- Managing RFQs, RFPs, evaluations, supplier engagement and negotiations
- Supporting contract development and establishment
- Bringing structure and consistency to procurement processes, systems and documentation
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and contractors
- Supporting good commercial decision-making, probity and value for money
The broader procurement environment places a strong emphasis on efficient and consistent processes, transparency, compliance, supplier performance and commercial risk management.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with a good foundational understanding of procurement best practice who can comfortably step in and add value.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Solid practical experience in procurement, sourcing or commercial environments
- Exposure to infrastructure, construction, utilities or other asset-intensive environments would be advantageous, but isn’t essential
- A sound understanding of end-to-end procurement and good commercial practice
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Confidence in supplier negotiation and the ability to have constructive commercial conversations
- Good systems and process discipline, with strong attention to documentation and detail
- The ability to work across multiple procurement activities and keep things moving
- Relevant procurement, supply chain or commercial qualifications are a bonus, but experience and capability will carry more weight
This is a great contract for someone who enjoys being hands-on, pragmatic and close to the business. If you’re a practical procurement professional who combines good process, strong people skills and commercial nous, we’d love to hear from you. Apply online or call Julie @ Sagely on 021 456 053 to discuss further.
Please note that CVs should be in MS-Word format where possible. Also, you must already hold an NZ Passport or valid working visa to be considered for this role.
