Classic Recruitment is excited to be working with one of Toowoomba’s most iconic and well-known brands to assist them recruiting a new Safety Advisor.

This full-time permanent role will suit either a seasoned Safety Advisor, or someone looking to take the next step in their career.

Reporting to an experienced Safety Manager, we are seeking a safety professional who can provide advisory support and HSE solutions to their stakeholders. They require an HSE professional with a robust personality who can engage with the business and coach leaders in continually improving safety performance and drive a positive and engaged safety culture.

Our client is looking for someone who is experienced in the Civil Construction industry, as this will be a major focus of the role.
  
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  

• Influence and drive positive health, safety and environment change in the workplace.
• Develop strong working relationships to coach and motivate positive safety outcomes.
• Provide advice and support for incident response, including leading incident investigations.
• Review and develop Safe Work Method Statements as required.
• Undertake regular site inspections and audits to help teams ensure all risks are identified and controlled.
• Work with subcontractors to ensure compliance with legislation and company policies.
• Conduct training, including Toolbox Talks and VOC’s.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions and other safety-related communications.

Skills and Responsibilities.
  

• Previous experience in the Civil Construction industry – 3-5 years’ experience as a minimum.
• A minimum of a Certificate IV in Safety
• Certificate in Training and Assessment (Desirable)
• Accident investigation experience.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Previous experience developing and reviewing SWMS.
• Auditing background (desirable but not required)
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
