An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an experienced and passionate Clinical Team Leader to join the headspace Mount Barker team, making a genuine difference in the lives of young people, families, and communities through trauma-informed, person-centred care.
This is a rare and varied role where no two days look the same. You will balance clinical oversight, team leadership, stakeholder relationships, and daily operations, all within a supportive, passionate environment where people genuinely care about the work and each other. Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Centre Manager, this is a hands-on, key leadership role with real variety! You will carry a 0.4 FTE caseload (a minimum of 8 client appointments per week) while effectively leading & inspiring your team, which means you stay close to the clinical work while driving the performance and development of the people around you.
You will have the autonomy to lead your way and the support structure to back you up, while:
- Providing hands-on and supportive leadership and clinical supervision for a multidisciplinary team of clinicians.
- Overseeing the quality of care and service delivery across therapeutic programs.
- Championing evidence-based, trauma-informed clinical practice across the team.
- Supporting ongoing staff development, training, and effective performance conversations.
- Coordinating daily operations, managing triage referrals, and allocating resources effectively
- Support your team in navigating client changes, facilitating a clear and confident clinical escalation process and coordinating stepped care pathways to ensure every young person gets the right level of support.
- Contributing to individual and group therapy sessions as part of your clinical caseload.
- Driving a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with clinical service providers, internal teams, sister organisations, and community stakeholders.
- Actively participating in community engagement activities, including school visits, group events, and social programs at the centre, helping to build iREACH's presence and connection with young people and the wider community.
- Ensuring a welcoming, professional, and client-centred service environment at all times.
To be successful in this role you will have: - A qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work, with a current AHPRA registration or Mental Health Accreditation with the AASW.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience within a mental health setting.
- Strong people leadership skills and a genuine passion in developing your team.
- Proven capacity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic care across mental health settings. Experience working with young people is highly regarded, however not essential.
- A commitment to providing a culturally safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed practices.
- High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and the resilience to continue to lead in pressure situations.
- The ability to hold focus and stay composed when you are being pulled in multiple directions.
- A strong and engaging communication style that builds trust quickly with your team, with clients, and with key external partners.
- A commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and mandatory notification obligations.
- A valid Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
