About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the CEO, the GM - People & Culture leads the strategic and operational delivery of the people function across Star Pharmacy Group's growing pharmacy network.
This role provides trusted advice and partnership to the Executive Team and Area Managers, supporting leadership capability, workforce planning and organisational performance across nearly 70 pharmacy locations and a workforce of more than 900 employees nationally.
Leading a multi-disciplinary People & Culture team across Business Partnering, Recruitment, Learning & Development, Payroll governance and Work Health & Safety, the role oversees the full employee lifecycle while ensuring strong governance, compliance and workforce capability across the organisation.
Operating in a fast-paced, multi-site healthcare retail environment, this role plays a key part in strengthening culture, supporting operational leaders and ensuring the organisation has the people capability required to support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic People Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the organisation's People & Culture strategy aligned with business priorities
- Partner with the Executive Team to support organisational performance, workforce capability and cultural alignment
- Provide strategic workforce insights, people analytics and reporting, including board-level reporting on workforce trends and risks
Workforce Planning & Organisational Capability - Lead workforce planning and people analytics to ensure the organisation has the capability required to support growth
- Drive organisational development initiatives, including leadership capability, succession planning and culture programs
- Provide workforce insights to support organisational design and strategic business planning
Talent & Employee Experience - Lead end-to-end recruitment and talent management across the organisation
- Shape and implement the organisation's Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to attract and retain high quality talent
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, development, performance and engagement
Payroll Governance & HR Operations - Provide governance oversight of the organisation's in-house payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timeliness
- Ensure alignment with Fair Work legislation, awards, employment contracts and statutory obligations
Industrial Relations & Workplace Safety - Provide leadership on employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management and dispute resolution
- Lead governance of the organisation's Work Health & Safety framework, including compliance, risk management and psychosocial safety
Learning & Development - Lead the organisation's learning and development strategy, including leadership development and workforce capability programs
About the potential successful candidate: You are a strategic and commercially minded Senior People & Culture leader who enjoys partnering with operational leaders to deliver practical outcomes.
You bring strong employment relations expertise, leadership capability and the ability to influence across a multi-site organisation.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in a senior People & Culture / HR leadership role managing a broad P&C function within a multi-site organisation (500+ employees preferred)
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary HR teams across recruitment, ER/IR, organisational development and payroll governance
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations
- Experience supporting multi-site organisations such as retail, healthcare or professional services (highly regarded)
- Strong strategic thinking combined with operational execution capability
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation
